Description The verse written by the artist reads, 'We go to the ocean where each new wave will bring fresh sight. Where hope floats to the surface on foam so light. We trust that the undertow will drown our sorrow. We look to the current, to see our tomorrow.'This is a multimedia piece in sepia tones with a unique trompe loeil ('fool-the-eye') border that makes this appear to be a vintage photo taped to parchment.
Lisa Whipkey, Seattle Member Since April 2007 Artist Statement I am a self-taught artist living in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. Yes, we get some rain here, but we drink lots of coffee to keep warm during the rainy season, so it's OK. To me, even the gray days are pretty and inspiring. The sunny days are gorgeous and, well... "The Bluest Skies I've Ever Seen, are in Seattle..." as the song goes.
I'm happily married with four bouncing baby "fur kids" (cats). I have been producing art in various mediums throughout most of my life - dance, music, painting, photography, jewelry design, etc.... I love them all!
The works in my ImageKind galleries showcase how my love for photography, painting and digital design all comes together to produce pieces that are typically photo based with some element of digital enhancement.
With a penchant for the dramatic, romantic and whimsical, and a strong desire to foster creativity by trying new things, my works are varied in style and content. I hope that there is something that will appeal to every taste and touch every viewer.
Thank you so much for visiting my galleries.
