Description Part of my Meadow Flowers series even though the tulips are bulbs, we used to plant the bulbs in the meadow... and they would spring up and I love the red ones with the orange and yellow and those black center parts. This is my impressionist abstract acrylic painting on canvas with my beautiful Tulips as a tribute to my gardens at the old house. I lived there for 20 years and had the most beautiful gardens. This is painted from memory and my heart.Original, custom reproductions, prints and cards available on my websitesCopyright Claire Bull 2011
Claire Bull, Ontario Member Since June 2010 Artist Statement Creating art is a blessing and a gift I have enjoyed all of my life. I am retired now and grateful to be able to paint and create in my art studio. Visit me at clairebull.ebsqart.com for links and more info.
Claire attended Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in the early 1980's with Andy James, who was a brilliant artist and wonderful teacher. She was an Honors English and Psychology student at University and went on to run her own medical transcription business for almost 25 years while raising a family. Her grandmother was an artist and Claire is blessed to have inherited that creativity throughout her life.
After raising a family in rural Ontario and retiring, she and her husband moved to Muskoka (cottage country), where she paints with acrylics and mixed media in her studio by Georgian Bay. Claire continues to explore new techniques with each work and has enjoyed creating digital art since mid 1990s on the computer.
Over the past few years, health issues have changed the way Claire paints. Color and creativity are the main focus of her work. Music and art are healing and the pain seems to dissipate while she paints her positive emotions into each piece. Her paintings are uniquely bright and colorful and can be found in private collections and galleries across Canada, the United States, UK, Mexico, Singapore and New Zealand.
Claire is a member of the Huronia Foundation for the Arts, Artists in Canada, CARFAC, Quest Art Gallery, Zephyr Art Gallery, and Saatchi online Gallery in the UK. Her work is represented by local art galleries and she has been featured on the cover and inside the Visual Language International Contemporary Art magazine in April 2014, Artist of the Day and featured on the Blog in Sunday Crush Magazine as well as Artist of the Week in many magazines and websites. She represents Georgian Bay in Doors Open Ontario and her work has been featured on the cover of the "Handbook of Conversation Analysis" which is an international collaboration of Sociolinguistic and Anthropology professors distributed worldwide. She has won many awards and features on her websites. She has entered competitions in the past few years with growing recognition and exposure on the internet and one of the Iris paintings was part of the Perfume Lovers event in London, UK in November of 2012. Her work has been featured in House and Home magazine in Australia and used as stained glass for birdfeeder art. Her style is constantly evolving, with color and freedom of expression in her abstracts, florals, landscapes and digital art.
