Artist Statement Kristin Hartman was born in Västerås, Sweden. She moved to the United States at a young age and lived in North and South Carolina before she moved to California. Kristin received her BA in Studio Art from California State University, Sacramento, where she was presented with the Dean’s Award in the College of Arts and Letters for academic achievement. Shortly after graduation, Kristin became a resident artist at the Old City Art Gallery in Sacramento, CA. Her oil paintings continue to express her fascination with nature’s unique and beautiful design. She encourages the viewer to get lost in the mysterious and intriguing environments she creates.
