James Hanlon, New York City Member Since December 2008 Artist Statement James M Hanlon is a native New York photographer living along the dynamic shoreline of New York Harbor. He is a proud graduate of Pratt Institute.
In 2008 he was a contributing photographer for videographer Matt Wolf’s promotional piece "The Brooklyn Museum 2008 Spring Video". From 2009 to the present his work has been included in various solo and group gallery exhibitions throughout the five boroughs of New York City including The Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center and The Brooklyn Museum.
In 2013 his work "On the Edge" was selected as one of the "Curate NYC Top 150" entries. He is a contributing member of the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition.
His “Postcards” series (2015) encompasses a dynamic and nostalgic symbolization of our life journeys presented through the photographic manipulation of botanicals and the written word within a broad spectrum of kinetic colors.
