Artist Statement My interest and love of art began sixty years ago in a one-room school house in rural Nebraska. The three years of encouragement from gifted art teachers there were enough that I pursued it limitedly through elementary, high school, and college. However, I found very little time for art during the rearing of my family and twenty-four years of teaching. When my husband and I retired, seven years ago, sold our home, and went on the road in our fifth-wheel trailer, I again had time to rekindle my passion for painting in several media. By the time we bought a home in Washington three years ago, I was really ready to paint! So when we aren't fishing, working on the yard, traveling, or spending time with famiy, I'm either painting or looking for my next sujbect!
