Artist Statement Nicholas Bellamy – abstract artist - United Kingdom.

My art examines complexities of the positive and negative polarities of the human mind; these two opposing mental processes are key aspects to my works creative dynamics.

MOODS ARE THE COLOURS OF MY EVERYDAY LIFE
Ever since childhood I have experienced many periods of depression with high and low mood changes, and I have to admit that suicidal thoughts were constant and repetitive trains of thought, and I have on occasions even tried to end my life. Then, at the age of 40 I reached a point that forced me to decide on one of two choices... end my life, or reach out my hand. The right decision was made and now my you could say that this is my renaissance (my rebirth). I have rediscovered my creativity which has enabled me to originate my acutely emotional abstract art of living within the confines of my thoughts and past memories.
