Japanese art, Thai and Korean art are all examples of different
Asian art work of which one might enjoy. From abstract forms of
art, such as Lavender Lily by David Ralph, an artist exhibiting his
work in the online gallery at Imagekind, to famous
traditional asian art prints created by world renowned Japanese artist Hokusai
Katsushika. The Great Wave at Kanagawa, by Katsushika, can be seen in galleries
and framed in homes all around the world. In fact, reproductions of his beautiful
print of a majestic tsunami can even be seen frescoed in vibrant blue tones on buildings
and walls.
Buddhist art originated as a form of religious art based around the principles of
the Buddha. Pieces of art regarding Guatama Buddha, the humble beginner of the great
religion, came into being around the 5th century BC. Once Buddhist art became popular
in the Asian countries of China, Japan, and Korea, the artwork of those countries
underwent certain changes. Iconic art was seen more, often in the form of statues
of Buddha himself, and symbols were used more repeatedly, a phenomena that is highly
prevalent within Asian art even today.
Through the use of sweeping, yet controlled brush strokes and vibrant colors, this
art compliments many lifestyles and with rich religious connotations, aided by the
use of carefully perfected symbols and Asian characters; most Asian art is enough
to create a meditative atmosphere for any art lover.
