Artist Statement As an artist, I am as interested in the process of creating work as much as I am in the final work created. It is through the process that I touch, feel, explore, and discover, the insight, enchantments, and spiritual empowerment that the experience of creating allows me.

My works express different aspects and values of life, with an underlying spiritual message that seeks to reconnect the human spirit with its Creator. This often times is expressed in abstract or figurative sculpture, most of which is prompted by inspirations from my surroundings, people and their environment, founded elements of nature, and even cast shadows in a dimly lit room. There is not a day that goes by that I am not doing art. I want my viewers to feel or experience in part what I do, ‘a moment in time’, without ever having been there.

As a self-taught artist, I understand the role art plays in providing quality of life and vitality to a community. When properly executed, art can be a key ingredient in breathing new life into the “soul” of a community and its residents.

Through art in public places, I seeks to bring back to life the forgotten history found in many communities, stimulate the imagination within an otherwise sterile environment, or simply capture civic memories through creative design works in a variety of mediums. The artistic elements used aid in rebuilding the tangible and intangible characters of a community, bring disparate groups together, create safer neighborhoods, establish a “Sense of Place”, and promote a greater sense of belonging.

I have been commissioned to create works of art for many high profile event, such as “The Kicker” and “The Quarterback” , for the 1995 South Florida Super Bowl XXIX and the 1999 Super Bowl XXXIII. The South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee presented these sculptures to each owner of the National Football League team and VIP’s.
