Artist Statement Raised by Portuguese and Brazillian imigrant parents and very American godparents in a blending of cultures that formed his perspective and cultural aesthetic, Roberto Santo Cristo Soares found his artistic vision and voice in the culturally chaotic atmoshere of New Orleans. His images capture the layers of a place, the shadows of a moment, and often comment on the use of icons and images in culture and environment. Using found image, photography and digital enhancement he blends a tapestry of rich imagery.
