I am passionate about the dramatic interplay between color, line and texture that mimic the layers of my creative process. I appreciate that topographic maps have emerged to many viewers and that my images evoke ideas of aerial views or landscapes in relief, or as an excavation or a fossil.

I am interested in the tactile possibilities of my abstract geometric formations. I do not begin with a set plan other than to create a layered image. My intention is to slow down the resolution for the viewer.

Each piece is first sketched with tape. Subsequent layers of paint, applied with palette knives, and tape are carefully controlled using basic geometry for balance while simultaneously looking to discover new opportunities for juxtaposition. Paint is sometimes added in the end as monochrome to highlight these layers. The tape remains or is removed to create the desired effect.
