Artist Statement -Just a simple artist. Lots of "alphabits" after my name, lots of years of being instructed and instructing in the visual arts. I ask myself really and truly from where does art come? It is just a series of connected geometric solids or organic shapes constructed and/or destructed? No. Art is more. Art comes from a thread flying in the air as an idea and the true artist reaches up desperately and catches that thread and breathes life into it and holds it precious. The artist can collect these threads like like a carnival worker twisting a paper cone around in a cotton candy floss and the art grows like this. Artists are just mediums for these thoughts, these ideas, these concepts or so it seems to me. I don't go looking for subject matter, it finds me. I feel blessed that these emotions run through my veins.
