Artist Statement Oil painting is about connecting to beauty in both the earth and human nature. Through it, an artist connects with life much in the way that a writer, composer, or director does--through manifestation.
I worship beauty in my art. Beauty has many faces, not always the whimzy facade we associate with it. As I grow as an artist, I hope that message becomes more prevalent in my pieces. I believe the greatest beauty lies beneath the surface, in the emotion a piece invokes--that is what I am after.
My style hads been influenced by those of: Rembrandt, Vermeer, Da Vinci, Frederic Church, and Andrew Wythe. I do portraits, landscapes, and still-lifes for comission.
