Description This is the remains of Eglinton Castle within Eglinton Park in Kilwinning, Ayrshire, ScotlandPassed from the Eglinton family to the Montgomery's by marriage in the 1300's - the Montgomery's were forced to abandon the castle in 1929 after losing all their money building Ardrossan Harbour! Once it fell into disrepair it was used as target practice for tanks in WW2!
Samantha Mair, Irvine, Ayrshire Member Since June 2009 Artist Statement Whilst out and about travelling in my own country (Scotland) I usually have a camera at hand.
I have surprised myself sometimes over the years with how good some pics come out and people quite often comment on how much they like my photographs - I recently started collecting some of my favourites in an album and it was a friend of mine that put me onto this site so I thought I'd just put some on and see what happens!!
