Description Young Joseph Smith kneels in a grove near his home in 1820, asking God which church was right and which he should join. While we dont know the exact date of the event, this environment would be early in the Spring in upstate New York.Shot with a model in what is now called The Sacred Grove, a forest glen near his home in which he likely knelt. See James 1:5-7 and Joseph Smith-History 1: 1-20.
Lester Yocum, Glen Burnie, MD Member Since August 2009 Artist Statement I am a husband and father of three great children. My beautiful wife and I have been together since our marriage in 1983.
I have worked in a wide variety of jobs and locations, including graphics shops, photography labs, and television center within the private, commercial, and federal government sectors.
My involvement with the graphic arts goes back to 1983 and includes traditional and electronic arts, illustration, animation, and design. I used to do layouts with Rubylith (remember that?) and technical pens, pasting up waxed galleys for brochure and poster work. QuarkXpress and InDesign are what I use today; Dreamweaver and Plone are my tools of choice for the Web.
I work in gouache, oil, watercolor, ink, colored pencil, pastel, and airbrush. Oil is my preferred medium, but nowadays I'm as likely to use Illustrator, Photoshop, or Painter and a Wacom tablet.
