Description if you know providence ri, you know the bank of america building, used to be called fleet building and before that it used to be called the industrial national bank 'inbank' in the 70s. built in 1927 by walker and gillette this art deco tower was one of the tallest buildings in new england. it has been named 'the superman building' . many suggest these art deco/ industrial gothic towers were conceptualized as zeppelin mooring stations, this building has a fabled leather lounge / waiting room on the top floor. we all know what happened to zeppelin travel though, it makes a nice story just the same.
John Nanian, Warwick, RI Member Since November 2007 Artist Statement thanks for visiting my imagekind gallery. i am a freelance photographer, but when I am not on assignment i photograph the world around me. sometimes i travel distances, but most of the time i am photographing local things. i am not far from the coast, im not far from providence and i can always find something nearby to photograph. i sometimes make photographic emulsion from scratch, sometimes i use storebought paper and film, sometimes i make photographs using the sun. i use a digital camera too, and from time to time i will make a emulsion based photograph using a digital file. i also make film and paper developer our of coffee. most of the coffee developer i use is from sumatra coffee beans i roast myself. i helped write the caffenol-cookbook, and i was featured in an interview on emulsive.com. i experiment a lot as you might have guessed. thanks again for the visit.
