Artist Statement “This dust was once the Man,” — Walt Whitman, writing about Lincoln in “Leaves of Grass”

This quote is very vivid to me and pretty much sums up why I have become an artist. I first came across it in a New Yorker article written about the work of Annie Leibovitz's work on Pilgrimage - the first set of pictures that she focused on not including people/profiles.

She is one of my favorite photographers but so well known. There are many other greats out there. It is the women photographers that I particularly am drawn to. Amongst the other women who focused on child bearing a camera, I also have chosen to be one of the ones to hit the street with my camera and capture the dust that will soon eventually disappear. I aspire to document photos that are timeless and visually pleasing. Pieces that create emotion, discussion, and artistic inspiration.

My photos and my artist friends are my gem. Very possibly many of my photos document timeless moments in my life that I will never have the chance to experience twice.

Thank you for visiting my page.
