Artist Statement I decided to display some images here as an outlet for my work. I am a neurobiologist by trade and a big focus of my work is (microscopic) imaging. Basically, I use methods (or develop my own) to highlight or literally 'color' neurons and their parts in the brain. I began life geared to stay in the fine arts as most of my family are artists of some sort. As I was pursuing formal training in painting and drawing (a path I started in high school), I had a bigger urge to feed my hunger for science and biology.

This pursuit eventually led me to study the anatomy of the brain and its circuits. I have found this very satisfying as it has kept my passion for composition and emotive imagery alive and in working condition. In these images, I have tried to capture the mystery and awe that is awakened when I begin to venture into this world (under the microscope).
