Nude art celebrates, enunciates, or even just discusses the human form at its barest
and unhidden. The naked body has intrigued artists from the beginning of art itself
and some of the most well known and beloved art pieces given to this world have
the nude human form at their centers. Nude art need not be erotic in the pornographic
sense of the word; there is an eroticism and intrigue to the beauty of the physical

Henri Matisse, renowned twentieth century French artist, painted many pieces that

been known to sell for as much as $17 million dollars and Matisse is a household
name for

One of his most famous
fine art nude oil paintings, created in 1907 and entitled “Blue Nude (Souvenir
de Biskra), now resides framed and positioned for all to see in the Baltimore Museum
