Artist Statement I am very passionate about photography, especially digital. I am an amateur with no formal training or education in photography, although I have experience since November of 2005.
I have only used Nikon D50 and HP Photosmart R707 cameras for my photography.
My photography is very diverse and varied. Its a way I portray the world as I see it in each image I create. I do my best to establish my own personal style to my photography and apply a different sense to my images than the mundane aspects of a photo. I call it poetic photography.
My photography projects include Daily Photos, Bell Gardens Photography, and People. Daily Photos is a project in which I take at least one photo everyday (currently on hold). Bell Gardens Photography is a project in which I photograph Bell Gardens, my city. People is a project in which I photograph people I personally know in a wide variety of settings. You can view these photos in their own Flickr sets in my Projects collection within my Flickr photostream. I also administer a Flickr group, Bell Gardens, Los Angeles, CA; so others can participate in photographing my city. My Flickr username is JKeagan.
My goal in photography is to make a name for myself in the photography world. Although it would be nice to make a living from photography, I don't seek to. I just like being behind the camera.
I have wanted to be a photographer ever since I was a young girl. It's a dream of mine to produce professional images. Now that I have a good opportunity to realize this dream, I'm making my best efforts to go all the way with it.
All of my photography is edited with Photoshop CS2 or Picasa 2.
