Description The great peace of universal light shines in your mind foreverbut it must shine outward to make you aware of itThe base of this picture was made from collage of colour copies of my previous work. The background was done using left over house paint and iridescent paint. Detail was added using water colour pencil, paint pens, felt tip pens and permanent markers. It was then uploaded for some finishing touches in Photoshop (text added only).

Artist Statement I believe that Artistic expression is an important means to help people reconnect with their authentic or higher selves. Meditation/prayer alone can be too passive to truly capture our energy and passion. Art awakens the soul because it speaks the language of the soul!

I am young a self-taught spiritual/fantasy artist who lives in Fremantle Australia. I am also the founder of an organisation called Your Creative Centre, an organisation that aims to provide a nexus between art, motivation and spirit. I sell inspirational art prints, gift cards, fair trade products and my own affirmation cards which have a bit of a funky twist. I also run intuitive art workshops to help others create inwardly focused art. I also do commissions from time to time for meditation CDs, spirit portraits and goddess portraits.

Before stating this creative journey, I was a young up and coming lawyer, who had wrapped her creative spirit into a little ball and put it in a box somewhere I couldn’t remember. I got a job in a top tier Australian law firm and pretended to be a lawyer for 4 long years.
But on the inside I was a creative spirit with a vision to share with the world. My authentic self was vanishing inside the walls of an office and my frustration was growing because I wasn't living my creative dream!
The little creative spirit inside me was screaming out to share its inspiration with the world and then one day I decided to stop dreaming and start doing it!

I love to use mix media and take a somewhat unconventional approach to create spiritual images. I use everything from house-paint, pencils, magazine clippings and also digital art techniques to create my pieces. I love to rework my art into new images using layering and see everything as connected which I like to illustrate in my art. I never plan out my art work because it allows me to freely express my soul, and affirmations or inspiring words that I am guided to share with others.

Rebecca has degrees in Law and Psychology, and an internationally recognised Diploma in Spiritual Art. She will also be undertaking the Angel Intuitive Course offered by Doreen Virtue famous spiritual author in November this year.
