Artist Statement I began to draw in Montana when my first son began to smile. I wanted to catch that emotion and hang on. I continued to practice in Colorado and I miss those mountains like crazy. Now I am back in Kansas City where I started, but my portaits are so much clearer. I began to experiment with watercolor in January (2008) and I am having a terribly fun time with that!

My first juried art show went well, and was a valuable learning experience. I am excited to do more. So far, most of my work has been done on commission, but I feel very validated to have people see value in art that wasn't even created for them personally.

I have a fabulous husband, five beautiful very spirited children. I have all that I need and I am blessed. I love my art and I hope to make some money at it so that I can justify doing it full-time when all my kids are in school and I have no excuse not to get a job.

Let me know if you have a loved one that you need me to turn into a masterpiece for you. I would be honored to do so.
