Artist Statement I still consider myself to be on a learning curve forever when it comes to painting and want to try everything when it comes to subject matter. I find some things easier, others more challenging. The only thing I can say about my style is that I seem to gravitate towards bright and colorful. After doing very detailed work- I often go towards abstract after and let things roll. I have been collecting photos, magazines and books for many years and have quite a library of art subjects.

As for training. Grade school art, one course in college, and a few work shops-my favorite was attending one with Nita Engle, whose work I greatly admire. I often try to use her suggested tactics of application.

For many years I worked in sales and other jobs, that did not allow me the time or ability to try painting. Since having my first child- late in life-I desperately wanted to find a way to be home with him and turned to a passion for painting that I have since been unable to fully explore. So with allot of help from my love and very significant other, I am currently painting as much as possible so that I can truly enjoy life, my son, my home and my work.
