Artist Statement Welcome to my physical art gallery. I tend to call my painting physical art because, well... it's not particularly fine, and it's pretty much the only art I create using non-digital media. Painting is very freeing for someone so engrossed as I in a world of pixels and bites.

Sometimes I just need to remove my glasses, unplug the electronics and let go. I'm not a formally trained artist and I don't care much for rules or theories. I just get whatever surfaces and supplies I can find or buy cheap, put on some soul searching tunes and put hand to canvas (or wood, or trash, or whatever).

I rarely do much planning and often beneath a finished piece will lie four or five incomplete images. Whether thirty minutes or months of work, if a painting is supposed to be completed or shown to others, it will be. Sometimes it's just for me. What you will see in my gallery is a small fraction of the work scattered about where I have set my feet.

My relationship with God is my sole inspiration for any art I attempt. I see myself more as an interpreter than an artist. I am permitted to see aspects of God and His mysteries, and form paint into a reflection of these things. It's normal for me to have little perception or understanding of what I am painting until nearly complete. Other times I approach a surface with anticipation for what I have already begun to see. Painting for me is a very free and intimate time with my Creator.

In the end I hope my work inspires people to wonder; particularly at the wondrous mystery of God and His gift of life through Jesus Christ. I pray these images permit you see Him as I have, a found mystery... and to know Him, the Living and Mighty God who loves us.
