Artist Statement Cathy Pierce Payne is a self-taught artist working in several mediums. Her first landscapes were done in cross-stitch, and while she still works those, she has also added photography, acrylics, colored pencils, and pastels to her portfolio.

Cathy's cross-stitch pieces have been in the Middleburg Artwalk, Middleburg, VA, the Bluemont Fair, Bluemont, VA, and included in Joan Gardiner's Christmas Open Houses, in Unison, VA.

Several of her cross-stitch and pastel pieces are now in private collections.

Born and raised in Loudoun County, VA, Cathy and her husband along with their 4 dogs and cat, now live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of West Virginia.
