Artist Statement Michael entered the realm of photography through a bit of a back door. Growing up Michael always enjoyed art; drawing in particular. As life progressed his time spent with a sketchpad was eclipsed by other activities. A number of years later, Michael attended the University of Alberta and completed his degree in Computer Science. He discovered Photoshop and all the creative doors that it opened. This rekindled his love for art in the digital age. Michael began exploring what could be done with Photoshop and other programs. Now all he needed was some material to edit. So he bought his first digital SLR camera and the passion was ignited.

Since then Michael has spent a lot of time exploring different ways to meld photography and different processing techniques such as HDR and he continues to further his learning through various post-secondary and speciality courses. He can be found on Flickr frequently posting his latest photographic experiments.
