When I was young, my grandfather would boast that the computer would become the wave of the future and at an alarming rate. My grandfather was right, of course the progression of the computer has given way to a New World. We are all connected. We all live and die in this social existence. We communicate through pictures and through speech. We communicate to perpetuate our species and to learn. Our social circles are growing with technology. They are at multiple levels; micro, macro and overlapping as we try new ways to communicate to the world around us. From telephones, televisions, to computers, we have become closer then ever before. Countries thousands of miles away from us are no longer so far away. We don’t just communicate, but connect on a larger scale than in the past. The world grows smaller as we become more connected. In my relatively short life span the explosion of technology intrigues me and pushes my imagination. It leads me to wonder what is to come and where are we going. I feel technology will make this one of the most exiting times to be alive. Our society is about to get a lot more complex, and yet so beautiful.With my art, I have tried to take a hybrid standpoint by blending computers and art. This concept has been a large influence in my work. By using the computer as a tool, as well as the traditional art forms, I am pushing my boundaries in an attempt to communicate old concepts into new formats, concepts of technology and society.I plan to use traditional forms of mark making combined with the computer techniques to further develop my art. I will use circular forms to communicate our various social circles. I am in process researching what these circles mean to me. These two important parts to my life are working to create beautiful and complex images
