Current Gallery: in celebration of briar ( piece)

Most of he photographs presented here are drawn from an ongoing portfolio, "In Celebration of Briar." It is an exploration of the beauty and artistry of the briar tobacco pipe, both classic and modern. Not simply documentary images, these are expressions of the personality, the spirit of each piece; they are portraits of the pipes. For 2007, I collected 13 of the photographs, and created a calendar from them. I've done it again for 2008, and am currently working on two editions for 2009 - one in B&W, the other in full colour.

This gallery provides the opportunity to buy some of the individual images from the project. I have priced them low, wanting to keep them affordable to the greatest number of enthusiasts. The images contained here will change periodically.

Any of these may be ordered in several different sizes, including greeting cards. They can be printed on a variety of paper stocks. Mounting, matting and framing options are also available, resulting in a finished piece, ready to hang on your wall.

For paper, I especially recommend the Enhanced Photo Luster or the Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl for a more luxurious look, similar to an air-dried, double-weight silver printThe Somerset Velvet Fine Art also makes a nice presentation. If you just want to tack the print to the wall, the Enhanced Matte Poster paper is a good choice. If you decide to order framing for your print, I strongly recommend glazing with the UV protective acrylic. I've set up a default framing style that is harmonious with the images, but click through the styles to suit your decor.

NOTE: Some of the thumbnails will appear dark, especially if you're browsing on a laptop with the brightness turned down. Click on the images to get a better view. There's more detail than the little thumbnails can present!
