The artist has traveled extensively in Western Europe and North America, drawing on his varied life experiences to inspire his artistic creations. His works are in private collections in the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia and Australia, and have appeared in publications such as: The New York Times, Boston Globe, and Art Business News. Hochstein describes his inspiration as coming from stress, loneliness, a perceived “lack of time”, and the need to "express concepts that cannot be explained with words”.
