Images in this gallery are made using paper or metal or glass. Sometimes i use paper in my camera instead of film and create a paper negative ( the photo paper might be hand coated by me or store bought ). Sometimes I coat metal or glass instead of paper and use this instead of film as well. The results of the paper, glass and metal might be a negative, or a positive image. If it is a positive image, I used a special developer to create a silver gelatin ferrotype, ambrotype or direct positive paper image. it is a single-step process like a "color slide" but made with traditional black and white materials. "Silver Gelatin" ferro/ambrotypes and direct positive images came about in the 1880s soon after silver gelatin was invented. Before "silver gelatin" photographers of the day poured wet-plates using highly unstable and dangerous materials.
