Artist Statement Andrey Poletaev, an award winning European artist specializing in one of the most exclusive art forms produced today, one of the founders and a visionary in the direction of Ballpoint Pen Art.
Andrey started drawing in childhood and since then perfected his drawing techniques, produced spectacular array of artworks featuring landmarks from around the world. His love for cityscapes quickly set the tone in the area of Urban Landscapes showcasing unparalleled excellence and attention to detail in such an exciting and unquestionably difficult new genre.
With each new work, the artist refines his techniques and experiments with new mediums. Carefully chosen scenes, application of as many as twenty layers of ink, perspective, embedded depth and perception - the ultimate optical illusion - escalates our understanding of realism to a brand new level. Poletaev’s portfolio expands exponentially with not just ballpoint pen but graphite, oil and watercolor imagery.
