Artist Statement Born and raised in Detroit, I fell in love with photography at an early age. With no money for camera or film, I took a lot of pictures only in my head. Many of them are still there. After a photography class in high school, I learned how to try and get the photographs from my head onto paper. My brother let me use his Mamiya/Sekor 35mm camera and I was hooked. I like the Polaroid transfer process, but also shoot traditional and black and white images. I limit my post-processing to cropping, color correction, converting to black and white, and basic retouching. I don't try to create an alternate digital reality; the real world is interesting enough.
