Eugene Anderson, Middlebury, Indiana Member Since November 2009 Artist Statement I started taking photos about 20 years ago. I started getting serious about it 5 years ago. I love creating photos, it is an art form to me. Just like music, photography is a form of creating art. I have also been playing drums for about 28 years. Playing music and photography are my two loves in life. I'm hoping that one day I will be able to travel the world, so I can take pix of many things I want to.
I think you call tell by my avatar I am a huge Dale Earnhardt fan (R. I. P.). That is a photo I took of the front of my monte carlo. I am also a Yankees fan along with the Buffalo Bills ( you know I'm a die hard fan sticking with them). My favorite bands are: Testament, Overkill,Ozzy, Saxon, Armored Saint, Black Sabbath, Kiss, Death Angel, Slayer, and many others!!! I listen to a lot of different kinds of music, if it's good-it's good.
I went to college to learn about photography. I am still learning and anybody who is a photographer, knows you can only get better. There is a lot more to it than people think. It is not just point and shoot. My favorite is shooting with film. I think film still looks better than digital. Some of my photos are film, but I scanned them in. I shoot more digital than film and the thing I like about digital is you can see how the pix turned out right then. When I put my pix on the computer (digital), I try to not use any effects to make them better. Sometimes I have to though. The thing about photography is you are always learning new things and I love that because it will only make you better.
I would like to say to whomever visits my site and to the people who become a fan, thank you. I've learned you cannot take anything in life for granted. I have been through so much in my life and had to work very hard for everything I have, but I would not change anything. One of my favorite songs that came out this year is Nickelback's-" If today was your last day". That is the way I try to live my life, trying to do as much as I can in one day, and trying to live life to it's fullest.
