Description CALIFORNIA GOLD by Lynn Bauer - A lovely scene along the John Muir trail in McGee Creek Canyon in the High Sierra Mountain range of California. McGee Creek is located off of Highway 395, just south of the town of Mammoth Lakes, which is a major resort area.California is known as the 'Golden State' for a number of reasons, and I have to believe that our golden trees during the fall are one of them! Although we do see other colors, the golden hues of the aspens and cottonwoods are the primary color to grace our hills, providing a great contrast to the rugged granite of the rocks and our typically blue skies!
