Artist Statement Imagekind is the home of the 'Apocalypse range' of abstract art by J.M.Tellam, who owns and is Art Director, Artist and Graphic Designer for Mindgoop, an online retail store providing art and design on clothing, prints, stickers, apparel, greeting cards, baby clothing, electronics cases, bags, gifts, home decor and more via Imagekind, Zazzle, Redbubble, ArtOfWhere, Society6, Skreened, Zippi and Stickermule.

J.M.Tellam BA (hons) is a prolific experimental abstract artist living in Buxton the Peak District, England, UK, though she wishes she was actually living in Wales as that is where she feels 'at home' and as we all know, home is where the heart is.

She studied art at school ('O' level grade 'A' at Mountbatten Secondary School in 1987), but, having left home at the age of sixteen, was unable to afford to keep her rescued pony and go to full time college, or would have gone to art college like everyone else. As it is she followed her love of horses into a career and for a number of years worked with horses, starting as a working pupil in horse physiotherapy and stud work, then showjumping, polo, dressage and finally becoming a Horse Riding Instructor.

A bad motorcycle accident resulted in disability and Jane went back to college to study art and design (Advanced GNVQ Art and Design, and 'A' level Fine art grade 'A' at Farnborough Technical College) then started a Fine Art Degree at Huddersfield University in 1998, only to be told that she was 'appalling' at art so switched courses and went to Sunderland University in 1999 - her Fine Art lecturers only agreed to sign the release forms after making her promise 'never to pick up a paintbrush again'.

The new course, which Jane was given an unconditional offer of a place on as soon as the course leader saw examples of her artwork, suited her very well, and she left in 2002 with a combined 2nd class honors degree in Environmental Illustration and Graphic Design but never felt confident about her artwork due to her experiences at Huddersfield University, and couldn't find a job in Graphic Design due to 3 years experience in the industry being needed.

In 2002 Jane lived in Tasmania, Australia, for a year, during which time she had insomnia so whiled away the nights drawing and painting cats and horses. Some of them are for sale on prints here.

During 2004, Jane hand drew dragons from her 'festival dragons' range onto T shirts, and started selling them in London.

In August 2011, she started up Mindgoop.

In October 2011, she decided to take up art again after several years break, and started to do abstract art as therapy for her migraines and RSI and tennis elbow conditions using an ergonomic gaming 'Rat 5' mouse and a glow in the dark ergonomic keyboard she would sit in the dark doing abstract art to Muse, Massive Attack, Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails then sit on her front doorstep watching dawn break over Birch Vale, a pretty hamlet in the foothills of Kinder Mountain.
