Yes, I'm back again after more time on the road and a few more races under my belt! I went to retrieve some digital shots of some antelope I had taken only to get a message up on the computer screen stating that the external HD I wanted to use was corrupted and I could not get to the photos in question! If I had taken those shots in film I'd know right where they were and could have gotten to these shots but because I shot these photos on digital I was hard pressed to give my client what he needed ending my sale to him or so it would seem! This is the sort of thing i have always wondered about with digital, storgae and then over time being able to retrieve them when needed! Guess this is one of the falures about digital I don't care for! Actually the truth is digital didn't fail me but the HD did! This has made me install a total of 3 seperate external HD's to my desk top and from now on I'm going to not just transfer photos to only one but all 3 drives with the hopes of avoiding this problem ever again! Is this being extreme, Yes, but this might be better then me losing a sale that might have gone world wide... One never knows! How did this happen, god only knows why these computer clitches happen but in time I hope to recover some of the photography on that drive and I'm sure I will.
I point this all out because I guess I hope all of you out there in computer land are storing your photos in several places because it does appear to me once they are gone, they are just that gone!
Even when I'm out on the road shooting I check into this site often and I'm truly amazed at pretty much all the photography I see that is posted on this little site I created... I'm envious by some of it and really happy others have joined and add their photos to it! Hope others are enjoying it and others will join in?
