It is great to be in this group.

since i live in western Washignton, there are two places to go for tulips.  i have so very many photos of the skagit valley tulips.  i have yet to see the ones near mt. rainier, but hope to go next year as those tulips can yield the mountain with the field of tulips.

where does everyone else live?

soon, i hope to post my fave tulip photos.  this year (and last) i have taken so very many from down underneath the tulips.

thanks for starting this group!

I live near Philadelphia and tulips grow well here when the deer do not eat them. I'm near the Philadelphia Flower Show, which takes place in March each year and features many tulips, and a number of major public gardens such as Longwood Gardens and the Morris Arboretum. How about everyone else in the group?

Hi!
I live two very different lives. One very hectic, ''big city' life, stressful but stimulating,  in Central London, UK  (where I work as a free-lance artist and illustrator) and, in complete contrast, one totally chilled, laid-back, 'back to nature' , stress-free existence, on the small Greek island of Skiathos (where I run painting holidays, creative workshops and welcome fellow-artists on retreat).
The source of inspiration for my work is not always obvious, as a result;  i.e. all my tulip images were taken in London's Hyde Park!, in the center of this bustling metropolis!
Thank you so much for starting this group Will, and thank you to everyone for sharing your stunningly beautiful images!

Hi all,
I live in Eugene, Oregon and don't grow tulips anymore since the deer seemed to have picked them as their favorite snacks, along with roses, geraniums, petunias and many more of my favorites! The only way to enjoy the flowers I love is to paint them. Hope others have better luck with the real thing.
Great to be in this group with fellow  tulip lovers!!!

Thanks so much for the compliment. I'd say all your artwork is pretty darn impressive ! You're lucky to be so gifted in a variety of mediums.

Well folks, I'm down here in the Dallas, Texas area. I go often to the Dallas Arboretum for a lot of my flower shots. In the spring they put on a beautiful show of tulips and daffodils and other spring flowering plants called "Dallas Blooms"....great time for photographers! We also have a log cabin in the White Mountains of Arizona, and spend time in the summer and fall up there. That's where I get most of my wildflower shots...and many others.

Thanks Will for starting this group.
Best wishes,
Jacque

Hi everyone-- great discussion topic!  I live in Minnesota and the tulip season is VERY short in duration.  But the MN University Arboretum is a great place to go in the spring and summer for getting amazing pictures.  My tulips I painted in watercolor, because that is the only medium with which I am familiar.
