Hi Everyone!
Sorry this is long overdue but I just wanted to welcome you to the 'Doors' group and to thank you for the all amazing images you've added here. They're really fantastic!
I'd be interested to hear why you (if you do, that is!) share my fascination with doors. My own thoughts, along with verses of poetry inspired by doors throughout the ages , can be found on my blog here:

Do check it out and let us know your thoughts too!

My door comes from the aftermath of Hurricane Ike in my area. I used to go to this Seabrook, Texas shop to enjoy items made by local artists. It was the bright colors and the matching tape used in a pathetic attempt to save the glass. This is a visual story of life before the storm and the current loss by many people. Not far away my house survived just fine.

On a trip to northern Italy I became fascinated with the architecture and the worn, crumbling stonework. The entrances and doorways were addicting to photograph and after returning home, I was compelled to paint them. They are truly fascinating in their uniqueness aren't they?Love this door group! Nan

I don't know when my fascination with doors started but I can't resist them! The image I uploaded came from the French Quarter in New Orleans right after Hurricane Katrina. Actually, Louisiana is has some of the greatest doors I've ever seen.

Living in New Mexico, I see a lot of beautiful old doors, most of them painted a bright color. The bright blue ones against adobe walls are common and one of my favorites.
