Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone had some tips for better wide angle shots?  What do you look for when you have a wide angle lens on your camera?  How do you compose the photo?  Do you ever use distortion to give the photo added character?  What types of subjects are you most likely to use a wide angle for.  What are your biggest challenges shooting with a wide angle.

Song for the day check it out has great images!

Thanks Matt

I'm really new to wide-angle photography, so I'm very much still in the experimental phase.  I don't tend to read "tips and tricks" as much as I should....I just like going out and trying things my own way, and when i figure out that I could really use some tips and tricks, I go find them.

If I'm out looking specifically for wide-angle shots, I look for subjects that have very sharp lines to distort.

I like your style of trying on your own first.

One thing i'm thinking about when i'm out in nature is to put the horizon on the upper part of the frame or on the lower. Never exactly in the middle. Sometimes u can also do that and have a great result!
