Has anyone had any success in sales...I have been on this site a year and have not sold anything. I have had great comments, a great community but nothing in sales, If my views were dollar amount that would be great. I love the site but I am at the point of giving up.

Hi Veronica :)

I do a lot of memorials and the relatives and friends buy prints of my originals. I didn't set out to do memorials it just turned out that way. My clients are very pleased with their prints from Imagekind. I have a website with a link to direct clients to Imagekind and one other site to purchase prints. I also just show my art in three other sites to get my work out there.

Thanks again for the invite to your group!

I, too, have had one sale since I joined.  However, I am getting the sense that this sight is used primarily for gallery owners to buy their own works, framed for show purposes.  Anyone else feel that?  With the economy down, customers will forego art for more essential items.  I just plan to ride out the 'times' we're in and hope someone eventually notices my art.

True the down turn in the economy is a factor, and art is not really a priority for many. I just keep creating and like you hope my art will be noticed.

My Art work sells but slowly.  Sadly... I rarely get a sale with my Graphites or straight pen and inks. Even had people tell me they rather see it in color. Sigh ~~   I love doing both those mediums and will keep on drawing no matter what others say.

I personally believe graphite has a quality all it's own.  However, with graphite,  the originals  will fade over time much faster than other mediums and that is why I price them considerably lower.  Plus, I can produce a graphite so much faster than a watercolor.  I try to do a "drawing-a-day", but my schedule has not let that happen lately!  Animals do well for me in pencil.  Children do not.  The one I did of Obama was strictly an experiment to see what a facial portrait would look like.  He was a 6-hour exercise.  My bassett hound was a 3-hour exercise.  I have given away my graphites with the watercolor original purchases.  Made another sale at IK.... that makes two.  So, I'm wishin' and hopin' and workin' and waitin'........

I must be slow.... my graphites take as long as any other meduim I do.

If you use good paper and seal the graphite or charcoal drawing after you are done, it can last as long as say a watercolor.
