Artist Statement What can I tell you that you’d expect to hear? That you want to know about me? I do not have a critically acclaimed bio, but I do have a story. I was born and raised and still currently reside under the conservative colorful sunset skies of San Angelo, Texas. So imagine the competition for Texas art. Although I find Texas art to be great, there is more than enough to go around, and I simply love to express my thoughts and dreams on canvas.
I have never felt I fit in certain groups or interests. I have been involved successfully in band, and athletics as a basketball player and track runner, but I have never truly fit. I am pieced together like a quilt and continue to build upon that theory that life is a collection of experiences and thoughts that once evaluated are placed as the bricks and pillars of character and personality. After all, what do you know about anything if you don’t know a little about everything? I am continually interested in the progressive thoughts and ideas of today as well as what the past has to teach for the future.
I am inspired by these thoughts and ideas. My own included. My interpretation of life and dreams for life are intimate poems expressed in paint on canvas. I have no one specific subject but I do have a reoccurring dream of a white tree, and I like to express my true appreciation of rain. Coming from a drought stricken area instills a yearning for the water. I view rain as a baptismal experience, cleansing the land and the soul, and refreshing the earth for new growth. A new beginning. This is the beginning of my story in which you the reader and the patron of art is involved. My fate is as much in your hands as it is in mine. So please, dare to like a few of my pieces and claim them as your own.
