Artist Statement I wish I could say that I have been an artist all my life. Deep down that is probably the truth but as the song goes, It was a crooked road to end up here. My background is in finance and for the greater part of my career, I worked in leasing and accounting. Then life changes when you meet the person you will spend the rest of your life with and are blessed with 3 children. I put my financial career on the back burner and became a full time mom while helping my husband run a digital marketing company.

Years go by, kids grow up, businesses change, and I start to take art classes at the local college. Being familiar with digital arts, I wanted to see if I could create with just my hands. I took classes at our local college and was trained on color, composition, and texture painting still lifes using oils on stretched canvas. Today, I have found through much trial and error that creating abstract contemporary pieces on raw, imperfect wood is my preferred style. I love the combination of organic cracks, holes, splits and grains with contemporary art - not a combo often seen in the artworld.
