Send Us Your Images Via FTP
Please allow a few business days for us to process and upload FTPed images. The timeframe varies based on the number of requests in our queue and the quantity of images to be uploaded.
Quick Steps for the Experienced:
1. Compress and Archive all images (whether one or 100+) you want added to your Imagekind gallery. **One Archive per gallery.
2. Name the Archive based on the following structure:
- IKscreename_galleryname
- For example, if my screen name is “Imagekind” and the gallery name where images are being added to is “photography” the compressed file must be named: Imagekind_photography
- Improperly named or non archived files will be removed from our server and will not be added to your Imagekind account.
3. FTP info:
- Host: : 66.209.70.60
- User: : memberupload
- Password: : iprintmoney
4. Once your files have been uploaded email ik-ftp@imagekind.com with:
- Your Name
- Your email address
- The name of the Archive: “screename_galleryname”
- Number of images in each archive
**Please note, files must be 8 bit depth under 200 MB each.**
Detailed Steps to Compressing (zipping) Your Images:
First, you need to add all of the images you are uploading to an archived (zipped) file. Please note, all images (whether one or 100+) must be compressed into a single archive; one archive
per gallery. All zipped files must maintain the correct name structure as listed below. To compress (zip) your images, follow these easy steps:
1. Navigate to the folder on your hard drive that has the images you want to add to your Imagekind gallery
2. Highlight (select) all of the images you want included
3. Right click on the highlighted images and select “Send To -> Compressed File.” On a Mac, right click (ctrl + click) and select “Create Archive”
4. The images will be added to a compressed (zipped) file.
a. If you’d like to use a more robust compression application we recommend the following:
- WinRar
- WinZip
- StuffIt (Mac)
5. Once the file is done compressing, you must rename the newly created archive using the following structure:
- Your Imagekind screen name followed by an underscore (_) and the gallery name you want the images upload into
- For example, if my screen name is “Imagekind” and my gallery name is “Photography” the compressed file would be named: Imagekind_photography
- Please note you must follow this naming structure to ensure your images are uploaded to your gallery. If the compressed file does not follow this syntax your images will not
added to your galleries and will be removed from the FTP server.
6. Once you have added all of the images to a compressed file and renamed them all appropriately, you are now ready to send them to us via FTP.
Detailed Steps to Adding Images to the FTP Client:
Once you have the FTP client downloaded and installed, run the application and follow these easy steps:
1. You need to download and install an FTP client. We recommend FileZilla
2. Once the application starts, you’ll need to enter the following information in the correct field:
- a. Host: : 66.209.70.60
- b. User: : memberupload
- c. Password: : iprintmoney
3. Press the “Quickconnect” button
4. Once the application starts, you will notice several boxes with files and folders
- In the very top is the FTP server information. Unless you are having trouble connecting, you can usually ignore this
- The two boxes on the left hand side, on top of each other, represent your computer’s hard drive (where you will locate your newly compressed files).
- On the right hand side, on top of each other, is our FTP server (where you will add your newly compressed files to).
- The bottom box shows the upload queue and progress when you add your file to the FTP server
5. When you are ready to upload your archived images to the FTP server, drag and drop the archive over to the right hand side.
6. Once the file is added to our server, the progress bar on the bottom will indicate that you’ve begun a transfer and show your progress. Once your transfer is complete the queue
will clear and you should now see your file archive in the remote FTP directory (bottom right).
7. Please double check the size of the file you uploaded with the size of the file on your hard drive. If the sizes are different, it usually means there was a problem during transfer
and your file did not fully upload. You will need to re-upload and replace the file.
8. Once you have completed all of the steps above, please send an email to our team via ik-ftp@imagekind.com with the following information:
- Your Name
- Your email address
- The name of the Archive: “screename_galleryname”
- Number of images in each archive
