Description Fanelli Cafe, a long time eating and drinking establishment in the Soho section of New York City. Operated as a Speakeasy during Prohibition which began in 1920 and ended in 1933. Fanelli's Cafe can legitimately make the claim that it is the second oldest food and drink establishment on the same site, in New York city since 1847. The Bridge Cafe dates from 1794. Pete's Tavern dates from 1851 and McSorley's Ale House from 1862.
