Artist Statement In The Beginning

Art and Photography have always been a passion for me. From a very early age I had a natural flair for drawing and painting, and soon developed my skills with pencil sketches and watercolours, with occasional use of charcoal, and then oils. My first camera enabled me to capture images of nature, experimenting with light and shade. With the introduction of the digital camera I was able to combine both of these passions, which led me to my current position - As an artist producing Unique Digital Artwork. The inspiration for this work almost always comes from the natural world, being a lover of nature and the countryside, although many of my images now originate from photos taken of man-made objects.

During The Process

All images start out as original photos taken by me. These are then enhanced, treated, manipulated and edited, using various software techniques, thus creating unusual and expressive images designed to give the viewer a different aspect on the subject featured. My work can also compliment the mood of the surroundings in which they are to be viewed. Due to the detailed software processes involved, all of my images are totally unique and cannot be replicated.

After The Creation

I have had the good fortune to see my work appear across a broad range of galleries, both on-line and traditional. My work has appeared in the Saatchi On Line Gallery, Ecoscene, and the Rebecca Dawe Gallery. In addition my images have been used by FujiFilm for their trade stand at the 'Focus on Imaging' Exhibition at the NEC Birmingham 2011. Work has also been exhibited at the Agora Gallery New York, and more recently, the on line Digital Gallery 'D-ART 2014' for the International Conference Information Visualisation iV 2014, at the Universite Paris Descartes in Paris, and the International Conference “Computer Graphics, Imaging and Visualization” CGIV 2014, at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. My latest work has appeared in two Suffolk galleries - Snape Maltings Gallery in Snape, and RE+new Gallery - Woodbridge.

I am continually working on new images and styles, and will also happily create a commissioned image upon request. Please feel free to contact me via email or this site, if you wish to discuss a specific requirement.
