Description Collage in POV-Ray. The lovely little girl was standing, looking downcast, by a casbah wall in Morocco. I brightened her expression in POV-Ray and replaced the wall with a sunny artificial background. The toys are polymer clay sculptures by my wife, Judie Yamamoto.
David Raup, Washington Island Member Since September 2007 Artist Statement Dave Raup is a retired geek living on a small island in Lake Michigan. His work is dominated by 3D raytracing, using POVray software as a platform -- with occasional inclusion of photographic images. POV-Ray is especially good for rendering complex patterns of light and shadow, allowing for the full spectrum from fantasy through surrealism to purely natural scenes. Given patience and a lot of time, you can make almost anything with POV-Ray. The images shown here are particularly effective when printed on canvas. His work is exhibited at the George Burr Gallery in Ephraim, located in Door County, Wisconsin.
