Artist Statement Michael L. Bynum is a contemporary printmaker from Atlanta, Georgia. Bynum works primarily in the medium of printmaking, including etching, lithograph, serigraph, and wood cutting, but also works in painting and sculpture. He received a Bachelors degree in Art from Morris Brown College in Atlanta and later continued his education at Boston's Cambridge College in 1996. Bynum used his knowledge and skill to educate students in Art for over 25 years and has his work in numerous shows, including the Black Printmakers Exhibition in Sweden, One Man at the Woodruff Library of the Atlanta University Center, National Arts Program,and Harriet Tubman Museum, Macon, Georgia. Bynum is also the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Jubilee Award of Excellence and has work represented in the David C. Driskell Center at the University of Maryland, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and throughout the country.
