Artist Statement Ernie Hendrix is a native of Georgia and currently lives in Douglasville in west Georgia. She has been active in the arts for many years, also making jewelry and teaching bookmaking and polymer clay classes. She freely admits her penchant for bright colors and shiny objects, and even named her studio Gypsy Gold Studio because of her love of big, bright earrings. Retired, she began painting in acrylics and watercolors and has taken workshops with world renowned watercolor artists, Linda Baker, Soon Y. Warren, Jamie Cordero and, most recently, Graham Berry. Her painting techniques and choice of subjects are still evolving and she loves experimenting with different watercolor styles. Ernie is also a student of digital photography.
