Artist Statement I'm a visual person, with a background in photography. For the last 20 years I've resided in rural upstate New York. A special passion is country auctions, I've been to hundreds, and my home is filled with all types of vintage artwork, including book illustrations. I started experimenting with repairing and restoring vintage, public domain, photos and illustrations with a scanner and PhotoShop over 7 years ago. I'm self-taught, but I've gotten very good at digital image restoration.

Two years ago I discovered the wonderful digital collections of the Library of Congress. Anyone can download images from the collection, but they were digitized AS-IS, and that's how you receive them. Rips, holes, tears, creases, folds, dust & dirt spots, discoloration and fading can be found on almost every downloaded image. But I've repaired and restored almost 200 images. From Currier & Ives engravings, to Wright Brothers & Edward Curtis photographs, and posters from WWI and the theater.

I also provide an unique service in the restoration of digital vintage images, either on a hourly basis or a flat rate fee. This is a small, one person company, I do all the restorations myself, I'm semi-retired; so I do have limits on the number of restoration projects I will accept.
