Artist Statement David studied architecture and visual arts at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, University of Copenhagen in Denmark and Cornell University in Ithaca New York. He has worked as an architect, in the motion picture business, furniture maker and now as a visual artist working with mediums as diverse as wood and photography.

Many of the images shown here were taken in Europe and across America on Kodachrome slides. The series "Looking Up" was begun while studying and traveling in Europe looking up in awe at the cathedrals, churches and architectural wonders. The series "Night Lights" was inspired while taking 72 hour cross-country road trips while returning from Cornell to Northern California.

David is also an avid birder and has traveled throughout North America, Ecuador and Europe in search of his fine feathered friends. Many of the bird photographs were taken on his most recent birding trip to Thailand in February 2015. The tour was conducted by Tropical Birding and led by Scott Watson who delivered over 426 birds seen in just over two weeks.
