Artist Statement I've been engaging in photography for what seems a majority of my life, but it's only been in the last few years where I've really been able to dig into the details, mechanics and techniques of it. I'm really grateful for digital cameras because they provide me the instant feedback of what I saw vs. what the camera captured helping incline my learning curve. Before I accidentally turned it into an expensive paper weight with my ocean water antics, my most recent camera was a Nikon Coolpix 8800. I'm in the process of saving up for a Nikon upgrade.

I am the fortunate daughter of a recreational film photographer with a solid technique, artistic eye and an ability to plainly explain concepts of light and its capture. While he leans more towards abstract-style landscape, I seek to bring the smaller things in life to the limelight. After the upgrade, a good macro lens will be my next investment. A few themes that also come to mind that I would like to explore a bit more are beer and yoga. My life wouldn't be complete without either one.

I've recently moved to Marin County, California (just north of San Francisco) where I am finding so much inspiration to snap off shots. There's so much simplicity and beauty in this area, I'm really amazed. I also recently purchased a bike, so I'm finding views and images I wouldn't get otherwise (i.e. via car).

I also have two loving little cats who seem not to mind being the subject of many of my photos. Well, maybe they do, but I just can't help myself! I like trying to capture their different moods, motions and melodramas because they have such unique and endearing personalities that I wish to share with the world.
